Fall Festivals and Family Fun

From October 3rd through November 15th, head out to Aunt Louise’s 'Fall Farm Days' in Monticello. It’s a great place for family fun. Families can visit their friendly animals, go on a wagon ride, explore their famous corn maze, and a lot more.

Head on over to Havana, FL for some pumpkin fun. The Havana Pumpkinfest will be on October 10th. Though, it’s not your ordinary Pumpkinfest!! Activities include but are not limited to live music and events in the open air, arts and crafts vendors, numerous food trucks, a Scarecrow Contest, a Pumpkin Eating Contest, face painting, a petting zoo and more for the kids!

The annual North Florida Fair in Tallahassee runs from November 5th through November 15th. Ten days filled with daily entertainment, carnival rides, a variety of fair food, agricultural and art exhibitions and so much more. The North Florida Fair draws in at least 100,000 people every year.

Food, Music and Culture

The Tallahassee Greek Food Festival returns October 23rd and 24th with Greek food, delicious pastries, live Greek music, dancing, and cultural activities. Come hungry and enjoy a taste of something delicious and different. Admission is free.

Music lovers and concert goers have plenty to choose from this year. Fall concerts at The Adderley Amphitheater at Cascades Park include Tye Tribbett, Gov’t Mule & Ziggy Marley, COMMON with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, and The Revivalists.

If you enjoy art and local music, mark your calendar for the Anhinga Music & Art Festival at Lewis and Bloxham Parks on November 7th. This free downtown event will feature live music, regional artists, food trucks, and interactive art activities.

Step back in time and celebrate Old Florida rural culture, under live oak canopy roads at the 55th Annual Bradley’s Country Store Old Fashioned Fun Day on Saturday, November 21st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free! This event is held annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Enjoy live music, clogging, and traditional cane grinding and syrup making, alongside more than 100 arts and crafts vendors offering unique handmade giftas. Kids will love the wagon rides, pony rides, and petting zoo, while Bradley’s famous smoked sausage dogs sizzle on the grill alongside plenty of other festival favorites. It’s a quintessential North Florida family tradition.

The Fall Colors

The leaves typically begin changing from mid-to-late October and can continue through November. Locations like Lafayette Heritage Trail Park and Lake Ella are some of the beautiful places to enjoy the changing season. This is also the perfect time of year to enjoy Tallahassee’s parks and gardens without the heat of summer.

Take a walk, explore trails, have a picnic, or simply enjoy being outside in the fresh fall air. Sometimes the best fall activity is just getting out and enjoying a beautiful day in Tallahassee.
